FAQs:
What makes Better Together's approach unique?
Traditional speech therapy often focuses on specific speech sounds or language milestones, sometimes using structured drills or repetition to teach communication. Similarly, behavioral based approaches often aim to shape language or behavior through rewards and reinforcement, with an emphasis on reducing what’s seen as “non-typical” behavior.
These methods may not always take into account how autistic and neurodivergent children naturally learn and communicate. Better Together takes a holistic approach that respects each child’s neurotype, communication style, and sensory and motor needs. We presume competence and trust that every child has the potential to communicate. We just need to find the approach that works best for them!
How long are sessions?
45 minute or 60 minute session options are available, based on your child’s needs and preferences.
Where are sessions held?
All services are provided in your home or community (we do not have a clinic space). We are flexible in where services are provided in order to bring therapy to an environment that works best for your child.
What is your cancellation policy?
A minimum of 24 hours notice is kindly requested to cancel a session. If less than 24 hours, a late cancellation fee will be incurred.
Do you accept insurance?
Services are offered on a private pay basis only and are not currently billed through insurance. We will provide a superbill as requested to be submitted to insurance for possible reimbursement.
